Kevin Durant has always had the persona of a nice guy on and off the court. He always seems to maintain his composure. However, in recent games we have seen frustration get the best of the three time scoring champion. Over the course of three games, Durant has been given three technical fouls including two technicals against the Brooklyn Nets that resulted in his first ejection ever. Feeling that he let his fans down, Durant took to his Twitter and apologized for his recent performance. “3 techs in 3 games, not like me…@KendrickPerkins is a bad influence on my life lol jk..I will be better, sorry guys.”
It was a classy gesture by a great player and guy. However, could it be frustration setting in? Most likely. During that Brooklyn game, the Thunder weren’t playing well. They actually played horrible. I wouldn’t dwell on this. Durant is still a great player and more importantly respects the game of basketball. I wouldn’t look too into this. The Thunder still sits atop their division at 26-7.
It might be the holiday season, but Kyrie Irivng just gave his girlfriend the worst possible gift. Irving posted a picture on his Instagram of him with two girls on his lap. After getting a ton of backlash for it, Irving removed the picture, but the damage was already done. Kyrie sent out multiple tweets to explain the picture. He even tried to say that someone else was responsible for making the picture public. Hmmm… if that is the case maybe Kyrie should reconsider those in his inner circle.
One person who didn’t seem too upset, Kyrie’s girlfriend, Natalia Garibotto. She was away on vacation while all this was happening, but instead of making a scene on Twitter, she actually took the high road. This is what she had to say everyone talking about the story, “For everyone tweeting at me, nothing is up. Just a couple hoes who need attention and clearly in desire for more Ig and tweeter followers. ✌” Maybe it is not as bad as it seems. Who knows.
Terrell Owens started the year trying to reclaim the NFL glorious career he once had. However, it seems that dream has suddenly turned into a nightmare. Reportedly, the wide receiver was dropped by the Seahawks. Owens sent out this tweet, “I’m no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I’m truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver.” This is the time that teams make serious cuts in order to drop their rosters down to regular season size. Owens has not played in an NFL game since 2010. He only had two passes in the preseason. Owens was one of the greatest receivers of all time including 153 touchdowns, 1,078 receptions, and 15,934 total yards. However, this might just be the nail in the coffin of T.O.’s career. If he doesn’t get the hint yet, he is only going to be remembered for this leg of his career. At least we got this great video from his career. I think that touchdown celebrations really need to be brought back.
