A Girl's Account of All Things Sports

Tag Archives: Utah Jazz

hi-res-153624462_crop_650x440During last night’s game against the Utah Jazz, both Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade only played the first three quarters.  Were they injured?  No.  They were actually benched.  Two of the the Miami Heat’s ‘Big 3’ stars were benched for their poor performance in the game.  The Heat look to be in a pretty bad funk, but can the defending NBA Champions bounce back?

Of course they can.  There is absolutely no reason for this team to panic.  One big advantage they have right now is that they play in the Eastern Conference which has significantly less talented teams than the Western Conference.  If they were playing in the West, then they would be competing to stay afloat with the Thunder, Clippers, Warriors, and Grizzlies.  However, this team is stocked with talent and they know what it takes to get to the Finals and walk away with the trophy.  This team just needs to get through this month and stay at a winning pace until April when they start picking it up again. This team will make the playoffs and in my opinion will be playing in the Easter Conference finals.

In another attempt to own the world, the Kardashians have gotten their way. It was pretty obvious the family was not too thrilled when they found out former Los Angeles Laker, Lamar Odom, was being traded to the Dallas Mavericks. How could they possibly film their “reality” show while two key characters were hundreds of miles away? We all know just how awful that trade went for Lamar who put up the worst numbers in his career and was ultimately benched for the remainder of the season. Well the stars appear to magically be realigning for the Kardashian Klan who just got a huge paycheck for future seasons of the show that made them stars because Odom is back in Los Angeles. The Clippers have picked up the veteran and of course Kris Jenner is saying she had no part in it. Believe what you want, but the news is true. With Odom coming to the Clippers, LA sent Mo Williams to the Utah Jazz. So what did the Mavericks, the team Odom is coming from get? Well, not much for a guy who won Sixth Man of the Year not too long ago. Dallas got cash, trade exception, and the draft rights to Tadija Dragicevic. The Rockets were also involved in the trade, they received the draft rights to Furkan Aldemir. What is the Kardashian secret to always getting what they want? It is almost scary just how calculating they are. Too bad, this news will still never be bigger than anything Kim and Kanye do on a daily basis.

It appears that a new feud has broken out between Utah Jazz owner Greg Miller and 14-time All Star Karl Malone. It started when Miller took to his blog and said that Malone was “too unreliable and too unstable” to be an assistant coach for the NBA team. He then went on further to say that Malone lied in a recent interview in which he said the only way he could watch the Jazz play was through a scalper ticket. Miller then added fuel to the fire by writing the following on his twitter account, “Hey Karl – you’re lying. You have my number. Next time you need a seat to a Jazz game, call me. You can have mine.” The tension started when Malone commented on the handling of Dereon Williams claiming that the team gave him too much power and it was his coach, Jerry Sloan, who had to pay the price. Williams and Sloan were another pair that never really clicked, but the tension came to a head during a game against the Chicago Bulls shortly before Williams was traded to the New Jersey Nets in which Williams refused to follow the plays Coach Sloan had called causing Sloan to want to discipline the stubborn star. However, no one supported Sloan’s discipline idea causing the fallout with the coach and the team. Upon hearing this, Miller made some comments about Malone that showed that their relationship is not exactly the greatest. One of the comments he made is “Karl is still as high-maintenance as he ever was”. It seems more like Malone is just trying to become relevant again. If he had come to the Coach’s defense when the incident had occurred I could understand this feud, however, this just seems like unnecessary drama.
